Overview
Congregational Retreat will start approximately at 8:00PM on Friday, and we will return to Austin by approximately 3 PM on Sunday. We will be staying overnight at a retreat center for two nights. Meals provided include Saturday breakfast, lunch, and dinner, and Sunday breakfast. You should bring a Bible, journal and pen, clothing for 3 days/2 nights including outdoor activities, sleeping bags/blankets, pillow, toiletries, and shower slippers.
Why should I go to Congregational Retreat? What should I expect to happen at retreat?
Great questions! Congregational Retreat is a time for us to, well, retreat from the busyness of our daily lives and to spend the weekend seeking after God together as a church. We’ll have times of worship and prayer, facilitated small group discussions, group activities, and free time for you to decompress, rest, and spend time with each other and with God. While we hope that you will have a great retreat experience with our church community, our ultimate hope and prayer is that you are able to experience God at retreat.
Costs & Registration
Registration for retreat is considered to be complete once you have sent the payment – please note that pricing for retreat is dependent on the completion time of registration. This means that if you fill out the information form during early registration, but pay during regular registration, you must pay according regular registration rates. Your retreat payment helps to cover the costs for lodging, meals, transportation, and activities during the retreat. The last day of registration for Congregational Retreat 2026 is on Sunday, February 1st, 2026.
How much does retreat cost?
For Undergraduate Students:
Early Registration by 01/25/26 @ 11:59 PM: $95 (+ Paypal fee, if using Paypal)
Regular Registration by 02/01/26 @ 11:59 PM: $110 (+ Paypal fee, if using Paypal)
For City Ministry:
Early Registration by 01/25/26 @ 11:59 PM: $120 (+ Paypal fee, if using Paypal)
Regular Registration by 02/01/26 @ 11:59 PM: $135 (+ Paypal fee, if using Paypal)
Please note that there is a $25 non-refundable deposit with all cancelations before February 1st, 2026. If you will not be able to attend the retreat and would like to receive a refund, or if you have an extenuating circumstance regarding a refund, please contact Angel Zhang (zhangel1129@gmail.com). All cancellations after February 1st, 2026 are completely non-refundable.
How can I pay for retreat?
You can pay for retreat via Zelle (preferred), cash, check, or Paypal. Please note that if you are paying by Paypal, there is an additional fee. Please visit our retreat payment page for more details.
I want to go to retreat, but have financial concerns. What should I do?
We don’t want finances to be the reason that you cannot join us at retreat! Please reach out to the stewardship team at hmcc.austin.finances@gmail.com with the details of your concern and our stewardship team will work with you to help you to attend retreat!
I want to help others attend retreat by making a financial contribution!
Awesome! We believe that helping others attend retreat is a tangible demonstration of our love and care for each other. If you would like to contribute (any amount) to helping cover the costs of retreat, please give an offering with the memo “Congregational Retreat 2026 – General Fund” to give generally to the retreat fund, or “Congregational Retreat 2026 – (Your LIFE Group name here) to sponsor someone specifically from your LIFE group.
Transportation
For students and those living in the campus area, we will provide a bus to take you to and from retreat. Please note that if you are taking the bus, you are expected to take the bus both to and from retreat. For our City Ministry, please plan on coordinating rides with each other to and from the retreat center.
If you will be arriving late to the retreat center, or have any extenuating circumstances regarding transportation to/from retreat, please contact Rithik Batchu (rithik.batchu1@gmail.com) by February 1st, 2026.
